Dr. Mark Wood is originally from a small farming town in rural Manitoba. He attended Brandon University for his undergraduate degree, graduating with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. He then attended Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Optometry in Glendale, Arizona.
While at Midwestern, he completed several eye care mission trips as a part of the local Lions Club, including trips to Mexicali and Tijuana. He also completed externships at Marine Corp Air Station in Yuma, Arizona, the Malcolm Randall Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida, and private practice in Franklin, Tennessee. Dr. Wood began practicing in the Calgary area in 2016.
In his spare time, Dr. Wood enjoys curling, hiking, and golfing. He is an active member of the Calgary Society of Optometrists and the Alberta Association of Optometrists.
