Dr. Penny has been in private practice in Calgary for over 40 years. She strives to provide excellence in diagnostic vision care, emphasizing the individual’s personal needs. She believes in enhancing a person’s quality of life through excellence in vision care.
Dr. Penny has a degree in Optometry and a Master’s Degree in educational psychology, with special education in reading and learning difficulties. She has a special interest and passion for working with children and adults who have visually related learning difficulties, tracking, focusing, binocular dysfunctions, perceptual delays, and traumatic brain injury. Vision therapy and rehabilitation of these problems have been an integral part of her practice and career.
Dr. Penny has been actively involved in her profession, serving as Chairman of the Alberta College of Optometrists and Registrar, and was involved in the Optometry Examining Board of Optometrists both as question writer and later as Chairman of the board. She is still actively involved in giving seminars and lectures in Alberta and neighbouring provinces on “Vision and its Impact on Learning” and the “Assessment and Treatment of Vision Problems in the Traumatic Brain Injury Patient.”
In her spare time you will find Dr. Penny playing with her grandchildren, gardening, and working on her artwork.
