Comprehensive Eye Exams, Right Here in Chestermere

Providing Chestermere Expert Eye Care Since 2006

With the Alberta Association of Optometrists, and other leading optometric organizations, recommending annual eye exams for healthy Canadian adults, we can’t stress the importance of an eye exam enough.

Our Only Tool in Preventative Eye Care

Unlike other organs, our eyes don’t regenerate. Eyesight lost to injury or disease is often lost permanently. In the world of eye care, preventing eye disease and treating problems early is essential.

The eye exam is the only tool available to detect eye disease and other visual problems early.

Convenient Location & Hours

We are located in the same plaza as the Safeway, right next to the Domino’s Pizza and Gillette’s Fabricare.

Our office is open six days per week, including until 7:30 pm on Wednesday and Thursday. Visit us at your convenience!

What Do We Check For During an Eye Exam?

Modern technology has made it so our eye exams are fast (under an hour), non-invasive/pain-free (your comfort is our priority), and extremely comprehensive. We see developing eye diseases when they are just beginning to form.

We check for a refractive error that may be impairing your vision. These errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia), once diagnosed, can be corrected via eyeglasses, contact lenses, or laser eye surgery.

Glaucoma erodes peripheral vision, eventually causing tunnel vision. It is typically asymptomatic. Approximately 400,000 Canadians have glaucoma.

Macular Degeneration causes central vision loss and is more prominent in Canadians over age 50. Approximately 1.4 million Canadians have AMD.

Diabetes is often diagnosed by optometrists many months before diagnosis by a GP. This is because the eyes are particularly telling organs, and signs of diabetes are often plainly visible when examining the eye.

Blood pressure and other signs of health concerns are often seen from behind our lens before they are detected through traditional channels.

What to Expect From an Eye Exam

Our eye exams are low-pressure, relaxed, and comfortable. We take your comfort seriously- let us know how we’re doing!

  • A comprehensive eye exam takes approximately 45 minutes to complete.
  • Please arrive 5 minutes early to ensure paperwork/etc. is caught up.
  • An optometric assistant will perform several preliminary tests. These tests are non-invasive/pain-free.
  • The optometrist will meet you, perform additional tests, and discuss any findings.
  • If you require corrective lenses, we will provide you a prescription at the conclusion of the exam.
  • You can choose from hundreds of different styles of frame and choose which types of lenses you want to use.
  • Glasses are often made on-site, sometimes in as little as an hour!
